How To Transfer MathRider To A Different Computer

This page provides instructions for moving all your child's riding history from one computer to another.

This may be useful if you need to rebuild your existing computer or if you purchased a new computer. The steps are as follows:

1. Install and Register MathRider on Your New Computer

First you need to install the MathRider game itself on the new computer and register it.

For this, simply follow the instructions as per the email you received from us when you purchased MathRider. (The subject line of that email is "Your MathRider Registration Key").

2. Locate the Rider Database File on Your Old Computer

The Riders database file is called riders.db. It is kept in a hidden location in order to prevent accidental deletion. However, you can easily copy it from one computer to another and all progress will stay intact on the new computer.

Windows

On Windows the riders.db riders.db file location is typically in
C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\LocalLow\Sharper Edge International Pty Ltd\MathRider\

macOS

On macOS the riders.db file location is in
/Users/<your username>/Library/Containers/MathRider/Data/Library/Application Support/net.sharperedge.mathrider/

Note that the Library folder is hidden by default on the Mac. To make it visible in Finder, press the "Command" + "Shift" + "." (period) keys at the same time on your keyboard.

3. Copy 'riders.db' into the same folder on your new computer

Once you have located your riders.db file, you can simply copy it from the old computer onto the new computer in the same location, ie into

Windows: C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\LocalLow\Sharper Edge International Pty Ltd\MathRider\

Mac: /Users/<your username>/Library/Containers/MathRider/Data/Library/Application Support/net.sharperedge.mathrider/

You might utilise a USB flash drive to copy it from one computer to the other.

4. Use MathRider on the new computer

Now when you start MathRider on the new computer it will have all existing rider data available, just as they were on the old system.
